Monthly Recap: August

Team Update.

August has been a month of learning and preparation, with lots of progress and challenges that have shaped our journey. Force 7 Sailing is ready to wrap up the summer and move into the next phase of our project!

Our build team has continued to work diligently to complete the construction of our moth. The deck has been completed and advancements have been made towards laying our hull. A malfunctioning vacuum pump caused some minor obstacles in constructing our hull, but the team continues to work hard to complete the hull on schedule. Despite these challenges, our build team has gained valuable experience in hull construction, which will allow the process to be much more efficient when we begin the next layup.

In other exciting news, we’ve unboxed and set up our training moth! While it’s not yet on the water, this new addition will be helpful in preparing our sailors throughout the fall as we continue to finish our competition moth.

As the majority of our team prepares to head back to classes in the fall, we’re excited to get back into the swing of things. Stay tuned for upcoming information/recruitment sessions to see how you can get involved!
