Monthly Recap: January

Team Update.

January was a fantastic month for Force 7 Sailing. Our team has made substantial strides in every field of the project. Here is some insight on what we’ve been up to

Our design team has been working hard to finish the design phase to begin the build phase. We have completed the foil shapes and hull designs, with more detailed structural models in the works as well as control systems.

With the build phase just around the corner, our materials team has selected various sustainable materials to be utilized to bring our design to life. We have initiated the procurement process for materials such as basalt fiber, however, continue to research further opportunities to implement eco-friendly materials into our design.

Our Finance and Logistics Teams have orchestrated successful fundraising initiatives in the early stages of the new year, resulting in the acquisition of sponsorship from two companies: Natural Forces Solar and Lengkeek Vessel Engineering. Further, we have established a Wind Athletes Canada account to streamline public donations directly towards supporting our team.

Looking ahead… Force 7 Sailing is continuously recruiting new members, and welcomes students from MUN, DAL, and Marine Institute, of all programs!
