Monthly Recap: June

Team Update.

June was a positive month for Force 7 Sailing. Our team has made significant headway in our project and gained invaluable experience.

Our Dalhousie build team has been hard at work. The final refinement of our female mold has been completed by making a new stern section. The team is preparing for our upcoming hull layup and is excited to continue progressing toward a complete build.

Our team leads, alongside the logistics and finance teams, have been working closely this month and have finalized the purchase of a Mach 2 Moth Class Sailboat and many spare parts. This moth will act as a design reference, training boat, and some spare parts (such as the rig and sail) will be used for our boat. The Foiling SuMoth Challenge regulations limit the percentage of carbon fiber allowed in each component of our moth. By upcycling these spare parts (defined as the material being reused in its current state in the SuMoth regulations), our team can use 100% carbon fiber in certain aspects of the moth, promoting strength and performance while maintaining within the sustainability budget and our sustainability mission.

The highlight of June was the Halifax SailGP. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity exposed various team members to world-class sailing and allowed our team to speak to and learn from the best in the industry. Force 7 Sailing was featured on CBC and NTV news; further information can be found on our team blog via our website. Our media team was busy updating our social media and website to share this incredible experience with those who follow us.

Force 7 Sailing would like to thank once again our newest donor, CBCL Limited, and silver-level sponsor, Ernst & Young (EY) Global Limited, for their generous contributions to our team's funding. We are continuously seeking new sponsors and partners and would like to direct any inquiries to our email media@force7sailing.com
